Hello all,
The next “breaking change” update for pulpcore - 3.115 - is coming. At our current pace, we will be releasing probably in mid- to late-June-2026.
Among the things that will be happening in 3.115, is we will be dropping support for Django4. We’re doing this for two reasons:
- Django4 is officially past its EOL date as of last week
- We want to be ready for Django6 earlier than we managed to be ready for Django5 - and we need to be on 5, first.
Running Django5 has a few implications for older installations:
- You need to be running Postgres15 or later (which you should be anyway, 13 is already EOL and 14 goes EOL in November). Current-Pulp runs just fine on more-recent Postgres versions.
- You need to be on Python/3.10-3.14 (those are the pythons that Django5 supports)
Older branches of pulpcore and plugins allow for updating Django to Django5 already. They will continue to allow for Django4 - but one should upgrade ASAP.
